A laser that is used for tattoo removal is a highly focused laser that rapidly delivers a beam of light to the skin for the purposes of removing unwanted tattoos. The laser is attracted by darker colours found in the ink of the tattoo in preference to the lighter colour of the skin. When the beam of the laser strikes the ink in a tattoo it shatters the ink into very fine particles. These particles are then no longer visible to the eye and become small enough to be absorbed and removed by the body’s own natural filtration (lymphatic) system.
The Ultralase Q-Switched Nd YAG Laser is specially designed for the purpose of tattoo removal. This laser allows very high-powered laser light to be delivered to the skin over a fraction of a second. This minimises any damage that could be caused by overheating the surrounding skin and hence any chance of scarring is greatly reduced.
Generally, treatments are quick and clients experience only minimal discomfort. The older the tattoo, the more treatments may be necessary and different colours and more intricate designs may also require additional treatments.
Why do people want to remove their tattoos?
Most people get tattooed and bitterly regret the decision further on. What seemed like a good idea at the time can cause a major problem in later life. For some people having a tattoo can mean psychological distress. For others it can mean difficulty in securing employment or going for a promotion however, there are also many people now seeking to reduce or remove previous tattoos in order to make way for new and more modern designs.
Our clinic offers treatments with the Ultralase Q Switched Nd YAG Laser which can remove tattoos containing black, dark and light blue, green and red pigments within 6-12 sessions based on the quality of tattoo. By matching the colour of the laser to the colour of the unwanted tattoo ink, multi-coloured professional tattoos as well as single colour amateur tattoos can be removed safely and effectively.
In General
• With modern laser technology the risk of scarring is very low, however, it is not zero and aftercare is important.
• Black is the easiest colour to remove but some colours can be more resistant.
• Anaesthetic creams can be used to numb the skin prior to laser treatment.
• It is possible to remove or significantly lighten tattoos, but it is not always possible to totally remove a tattoo.
How many treatments are necessary?
It is impossible to accurately predict the number of treatments necessary as it depends on the amount of ink used and how deep the ink was inserted. However as a guide most professional tattoos will require at least six to twelve treatments. Follow up treatments are conducted at no less than 4-6 week intervals. Further fading can occur for several months after each treatment.
Can all types of tattoos be treated?
It is possible to remove or significantly lighten most tattoos. Black, blue and red tattoos tend to respond well. Aqua, green and yellow tattoos may be more resistant and only partially fade. White tattoos reflect laser light and therefore do not respond to laser treatment.
What are the costs likely to be?
Treatment costs will vary depending on the size, colour and time required to treat the tattoo. This can be discussed during your initial consultation.
How frequent are the treatments?
Time is required between each treatment to allow the body’s lymphatic (cleaning) system to remove the ink that has been treated by the laser. A minimum period of six (6) weeks between treatments is recommended.
How long after being tattooed can removal commence?
Removal can commence as soon as the tattoo has completely healed. Although it may appear healed within a week or two the tattoo will still require further time to completely heal prior to removal commencing. A minimum period of six (6) weeks is advised. Your initial consultation can take place at any time during the six weeks.
Can the area be re-tattooed?
Yes, the area can be re-tattooed following laser removal. Whether you have had complete removal, partial removal or just lightening of the area will be able to be re-tattooed. The wish to replace an existing tattoo is a common reason for having laser tattoo removal.
Will the tattoo completely disappear?
In many cases, there will be a 100% clearance of the tattoo. On average, 95% fading is considered a good result. The result depends upon the colour and type of ink used as well as the depth of penetration of the ink in the skin. Your therapist can discuss with you the likeliness of success during your initial consultation.

Ultrasound Cavitation is an advances scientific method of reducing fat and cellulite to contour problem areas, without the need for invasive procedures and surgery. Offering effective results on virtually any area of the body, it is used to
• Eliminate stubborn fat pockets
• Reduce and smooth cellulite
• Sculpt and reshape your silhouette
• Tighten & tone loose, sagging or ageing skin
• Improve skin elasticity and firmness
• Invigorate circulation and lymphatic flow
How it works
Low frequency sound waves are applied to the skin in the targeted area, disrupting the fatty tissue. The fatty tissues is then broken down and filtered through the body’s own lymphatic system.
How many treatments will you need?
This will vary depending on the size and type of area being treated. Typically to achieve maximum results, a course of 6-10 treatments will usually be required.
Are the treatments painful?
Ultrasound Cavitation is painless, making it a popular body contouring alternative to surgery and liposuction. Treatments involve heating the targeted area in a circular motion with the handpiece, so clients will experience a warm, comfortable sensation.
Is there any downtime following treatment?
Some patients may experience redness in the treatment area initially, but this will generally pass within 1-4 hours.
For best results, it is advised you undertake 20 minutes of cadio exercise following treatment to encourage lymphatic drainage.

Radio Frequency, also referred to as RF, is a fantastic treatment for tightening loose or sagging skin on any area of the body to produce firmer, more youthful looking skin.
How does RF work?
RF works by generating heat and applying it to the epidermal and dermal layers of the skin. The heat causes tissue retraction, resulting in instantly tighter and firmer skin. It also works to stimulate collagen production which over time produces a more youthful looking appearance.
Which areas of the body can RF treat?
RF can effectively treat the entire body depending on your skin concern.
• Tightens and lifts loose or sagging skin around the jowls, neck, chin, tummy, buttocks, thighs, arms and legs
• Tightens, smoothes and improves facial skin tone to reduce fine lines and wrinkles
• Reduces and smoothes the appearance of cellulite and uneven skin tone
• Firms ageing skin, including décolleté, to produce a more youthful appearance
What does the treatment feel like?
RF is a painless treatment and most clients will experience zero discomfort. Some find the warm sensation relaxing.
Can I get on with my day after treatment?
You sure can! Some clients may experience redness immediately post treatment, but this typically subsides not long after treatment. As there is no downtime, you can get on with your day as usual.
How many treatments will I need?
This will all depend on your individual situation, and we will carefully assess this for you during your consultation. Some clients may only need 4 treatments, while other may require 6 or 8 to achieve brilliant results.
When will I start seeing results?
When it comes to the tightening and lifting effect of RF, it can produce instant results. You will notice immediate improvements to your skin tone that will just get better with each session. The collagen remodeling aspect of RF takes a little more time and you will reach full benefits of the collagen stimulation around 3 months after treatment.
Special care following your treatment
It is a good idea to avoid excess sun exposure and always apply sunscreen if going out into the sun post treatment. Caring for your skin will ensure the beautiful results of your RF treatments stay with you for a long time to come.

IPL is a non-invasive treatment technique for hair removal and skin rejuvenation treatments, including skin clearing, redness reduction and skin tone correction.
What is IPL – Intense Pulsed Light Treatment?
IPL is a non-invasive light-based technology used to remove unwanted hair and improve many skin conditions. Such conditions as age spots, sun spots, freckles, superficial capillaries and other unsightly discolouration of the skin can be eliminated using this technology. IPL is also incredibly effective for those of us who suffer from facial redness and can even stimulate fibroblast causing increased collagen production in your skin for a more natural, lively, healthier looking you!
How does IPL work?
A fully trained therapist will apply a specially designed hand piece to your skin and generate an intense pulse of light which will be absorbed by targets in your skin. The light delivered from the hand piece is delivered at high intensity during a very short period of time. It is this rapid discharge of light that provides the high energy levels required for each IPL treatment to be effective!
Hair Removal Treatments
IPL hair removal treatments are easy, painless and quick solution to unwanted hair and can be successfully used on the body or the face. Usually a course of 6 – 8 treatments is required to achieve optimal result, but once you've completed your treatment cycle, you can look forward to a lifetime of smooth skin with only the occasional maintenance treatment. Compare that to the cost and hassle of a lifetime of waxing.

What is it?
Laser hair removal uses a direct beam of light targeting the pigment (Colour) in the hair follicle. The hair absorbs the heat from the laser beam which then destroys the hair. Once a hair follicle is destroyed, it doesn’t regrow! However, multiple treatments are essential for best results.
(Laser is not to be confused with IPL- they are not the same)
Benefits of Laser include
No more waxing, plucking, shaving or bleaching
Safe and effective permanent reduction in unwanted hair
Minimum downtime with minimal side effects
Reduce and prevent ingrown hairs
Cost effective
Smooth silky skin
Who’s is it for
Laser works best on brown, dark brown & black hair. It does not work on Blonde, white or grey. Red hair and dark blondes may not achieve desired results but some reduction may be evident. Test patch is recommended.
Number of treatments
6-8 sessions is typical for most areas over 4-8 weekly intervals depending on area.
The amount of sessions you initially require depends on hair and skin type, hormones, medical factors and ethnicity. Regular maintenance is essential to ensure success.
